At MJM Design Group it is our mission to bring beauty to your home through our designs. We work hard and listen to your needs. We cater to every style from contemporary to traditional but whatever the style the finished design will seem timeless. Our mission is to make your home functional and stylish but uniquely yours. We do not do trendy but rather strive for a timeless design that you'll love and be able to live with for many years.

Fee Structures

MJM offers several types of compensation for services. The most basic is hourly and that fee is $200 per hour with an 8 hour minimum.

Another form of compensation would be purchasing of drapery, fabrics and furnishings for you new home or renovation. That is based on designer's net cost plus a flat fee of 35% of each and every item purchased through MJM Design Group. Any trade or tradesman labor which MJM oversees on behalf of the client would require only a 10% fee of any and all labor. With cost plus there is NO Hourly Fee. A retainer in the amount of 20% of the estimated budget is due upon the signing of a contract with MJM Design Group and once you have reached the minimum amount of that contract, you will receive a full credit of that retainer upon the execution of said contract in full.

Fees on behalf of a party or wedding design is a flat 15% of the total cost of the event.

MJM Design Group is open to accepting projects in many budget ranges. MJM Design Group does not charge for the first interview of 1 hour or less. Let's talk and see if we are a mutual design fit for your next project!

Who We Are

MJM Design Group is owned and operated by Michael J. Moore, the principle and senior designer. The creative minds behind MJM Design Group have had over 30 years experience designing one of a kind interiors to fit every lifestyle.

About The Owner

Michael has a design degree from Harper College in Palatine, Illinois. He has also studied interior design and architecture abroad as an exchange student in Europe.

Michael is a registered interior designer with the State of Illinois.

He is a member of ASID and has sat on the board of Harper College to help further the education of students for the past 15 years.

Michael's works have been featured in both local and nation wide publications throughout his career.

He has also participated with various charitable organizations throughout the years designing rooms for local charities. Michael has designed spectacular rooms for both the American Lung Association and the AIDS Foundation of Chicago for their charity galas in the past.

This talent has lead to a successful design and party planning service which is offered in addition by MJM Design Group.
